The Institute comprises two main laboratories

• Rothamsted at Harpenden, Hertfordshire
• Broom's Barn, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Although the two sites are in different parts of England, their research activities are co-ordinated within a single management structure. About 800 staff including 150 visiting researchers and 100 postgraduates - many from abroad - work at Rothamsted Research sites.
